Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a premier organization of mothers aimed at enriching the lives of young children and raising the next generation of African-American leaders while enhancing the lives of all children. We work to accomplish our mission through diverse programs focused on leadership development, cultural awareness, community service, civic responsibility, legislative advocacy, and philanthropic giving.
In February 2018, mothers from Lake Charles and Greater Acadiana requested to combine two provisional groups. On March 21, 2018, the Southwest Louisiana Provisional Group became Jack and Jill's first combined provisional group. At the 43rd National Convention in Kansas City on July 27, 2018, 5 dedicated mothers represented the SWLA Provisional Group, earning promotion to the Southwest Louisiana Provisional Chapter. Following the convention, preparations began for the installation ceremony, leading to the Southwest Louisiana Chapter's installation on September 30, 2018, with 17 mothers installed into Jack and Jill of America, Inc., South Central Region. Today, the Southwest Louisiana Chapter is a small but mighty chapter with 23 mothers, 3 Associates, 24 children, and 11 teens, covering a 95-mile area from Lake Charles to Opelousas.
